School Rules & Regulations
Sadie Cook Academy maintains high standards of professionalism, safety, and conduct to ensure a positive learning environment for students, staff, and clients. All students are expected to follow the rules and regulations outlined below.
Professional Appearance & Grooming
Students are required to dress and groom themselves in a manner consistent with professional standards established by the school and the beauty industry.
- Proper personal hygiene is required at all times
- Deodorant must be worn to control body odor
- Students should avoid strong-smelling foods, cigarettes, or other offensive odors while working closely with others
- Breath mints or similar products are encouraged
- Students must follow the school’s dress code while on campus and on the student salon floor
Conduct & Professional Behavior
Professional and courteous conduct is expected at all times.
- Respectful communication with instructors, staff, fellow students, and clients is required
- Abusive language, inappropriate physical behavior, excessive noise, or disruptive conduct is prohibited
- Gossip or discussion of personal problems is not permitted in the learning environment
- Educational concerns should be addressed privately with an instructor or the Director
Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
Weapons Policy
Students, staff, and visitors are not permitted to possess weapons of any type on school property.
Violation of this policy may result in immediate dismissal and notification of local law enforcement.
Attendance & School Hours
- Day classes begin at 9:30 AM
- Students are required to attend their scheduled hours consistently
- Attendance is mandatory on the day before and the day after a holiday
- Students who are absent for 30 consecutive days will be dismissed from the school unless documented approval for an authorized leave has been granted
Breaks & Leaving Campus
- Students are permitted a one (1) hour lunch break during long instructional days
- All breaks must be properly clocked out and clocked in
- Students must receive prior approval from the Director before leaving campus during scheduled hours
- Unauthorized departure from the premises is grounds for disciplinary action
Cell Phone & Communication Policy
- Personal phone calls should be limited
- Cell phones are not permitted during class instruction or while servicing clients unless approved by an instructor
- Cell phone use is permitted only at the end of the shift for social media posting
- The school’s business telephone is not available for personal calls except in emergencies
Personal Property & Equipment
Students are responsible for their own educational tools, equipment, and personal belongings.
- Students must arrive prepared with required tools, materials, and completed assignments
- The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property
- Equipment or personal property left on school premises for 30 days or more will be considered abandoned and may be disposed of
Smoke-Free Policy
Sadie Cook Academy is a smoke-free campus.
- Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas
- Students who smoke must keep designated areas clean and free of debris
Student Salon & Client Services
- Clients are assigned by the front desk
- Students must accept assigned clients
- Students who refuse a client assignment must clock out and leave the school for the day
- No services may be performed without a sales slip issued by the front desk
- Students must report promptly and professionally when called to the reception area
- While servicing a client, students may not socialize with other students
- Retail product sales are part of the curriculum; however, students are not permitted to sell outside products on school property
Academic Integrity
Cheating or dishonest conduct of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
Daily Chores & School Responsibilities
Students are required to complete daily assigned chores as part of their professional training.
- Chores support cleanliness, organization, and professional standards
- Chores are assigned and rotated
- Daily chores begin 30 minutes prior to dismissal and must be completed before clocking out
- Failure to complete assigned chores may result in disciplinary action
Liability & Client Waiver Notice
Sadie Cook Academy is a teaching institution. All services are performed by students under supervision.
Clients are informed that services are provided by students in training and are required to sign a waiver prior to receiving services. By signing the waiver, clients acknowledge this and release Sadie Cook Academy, its staff, and its students from liability related to student-performed services.
Neither the school nor the student shall be held responsible for service outcomes when proper supervision and procedures are followed.
Catalog Acknowledgment
Students are responsible for reading and understanding the full school catalog, which contains additional policies regarding attendance, progress, grading, and graduation requirements not listed here.
Policy Updates
Sadie Cook Academy reserves the right to revise school rules and regulations at any time. Students will be notified of changes promptly.
